An appropriate holiday for the day before Halloween, today is National Candy Corn Day.
(I celebrating by taking out the candles I dipped to look like candy corn on my last trip to the Yankee candle factory…..and by eating a handful of candy corn.)
Throw your diet out this window for a moment with this yellow, white, and orange favorite:

Stop. Take a deep breath. And think about your lungs. You probably don’t do that very often, but there are many great men and women who think about them every day. We are in the middle of Respiratory Care Week:

Today is Navy Day…we’ll maybe it is…at least it used to be. It’s a long story. Basically Navy Day was October 27th until they discovered that the Navy’s birthday is actually is October 13th. So they changed it, but October 27th had already stuck.
Anyway….since we missed October 13th (because this blog hadn’t been born yet), we’ll celebrate today as Navy Day with this lens from clouda9:

Today we celebrate Double Ninth Festival, also known as the Double Yang Festival.
