Worldwide, 145 million children are orphaned or displaced. Every two seconds another child is orphaned. 99% of orphans worldwide will never be adopted.
World Orphans Day began in Nashville, TN to raise awareness and money for these forgotten children around the world. Take a moment to think about them, and whether there is anything you can do to help.

Today is the anniversary of John Montagu’s birthday. John Montagu was an 18th-century English nobleman, and the fourth Earl of Sandwich. It was he who invented what we refer to as a sandwich during a 24-hour gambling bender when he was seeking something to eat with one hand. He requested sliced meat between two pieces of bread. Others began ordering “the same as Sandwich”, and that is how it got its name. (Or so the story goes.)
So, today we celebrate National Sandwich Day with a few great recipes:

Hey what time is it? Spring forward, fall back. Today is Daylight Savings and time to set your clocks back one hour.
I hope you changed your clocks already, but if you didn’t then go do it now…we’ll wait.
So, what do you think about this bi-annual task? Do we still need it? want it? or is it time to call it quits?
That’s what Ener-G asks in her lens:
Isn’t it time to abolish Daylight Saving Time?
