The worldwide network we have in place is truly amazing. It connects people in similar situations, even if they live across the world. It reconnects old friends. It allows soldiers to talk to their families at home. It put a world of information in the hands of a child in a small village with no library.

Today is World Alzheimer’s Day. As many as 5.3 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease. (source) It’s impact stretches far beyond the person living with it, into the lives of the family, friends, and caregivers.
Yesterday started the fourteenth annual Balance Awareness Week (September 19-25, 2010). Any person with a problem with balance can tell you that it is an extremely difficult thing to deal with. Simple activities of daily life become great tasks when your balance is impaired.
Oktoberfest runs from September 18 – October 3 this year. (It always ends on the first Sunday of October). Raise your beer high and have a good time during this Bavarian festival.
