One hundred years ago today, on August 6, 1911 Lucille Ball was born!
I am a big Lucy fan. I remember watching her with my Dad, and I’ve been told that many of the bedtime stories that I was told when I was growing up were re-told and summarized I Love Lucy episodes.
In 2009, the United Nations declared July 18th, Nelson Mandela’s birthday, to be Mandela Day.
Mandela fought for radical change, and the end of apartheid in South Africa. He spend 27 years in prison, and then went on to lead his country as President. Among other recognitions, he won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993.

Frida Kahlo, a Mexican artist, was born on July 6, 1907. Frida is known for her self portraits. Her paintings are bright and bold and often surreal. A bus accident put Frida in great physical pain, and caused her physical problems which continued her entire life. Her tumultuous marriage to Mexican artist, Diego Rivera, also greatly influenced her art.
Today is Eeyore’s Birthday!!!! That lovable donkey with the tied on tail is another year older today.
“Good morning, Eeyore,” said Pooh.
“Good morning, Pooh Bear,” said Eeyore gloomily. “If it is a good morning, which I doubt,” said he.
“Why, what’s the matter?”
“Nothing, Pooh Bear, nothing. We can’t all, and some of us don’t. That’s all there is to it.”
“Can’t all what?” said Pooh, rubbing his nose.
“Gaiety. Song-and-dance. Here we go round the mulberry bush.”
So, today even if Eeyore cant be filled with song and dance, we can for him.
Today would have been Michael Jackson’s 52nd birthday. How about celebrating it by starting your training for Thrill The World.
