On December 17, 1903 Orville and Wilbur Wright made the first successful flights in a heavier than air, mechanically propelled airplane in North Carolina. Today, the anniversary of that event, we celebrate Wright Brothers Day.

It is absolutely extraordinary how far the technology of flight has come in the course of one lifetime. In 100 years, we went from the Wright brothers pushing a glider in 1900, to stealth technology and NASA flying us to the moon and beyond.
