National Letter Writing Week 0

Today starts National Letter Writing Week which happens each year during the second week of January.  With email, texting, voicemail, facebook, twitter, and all the other methods of quick communication, the art of writing a letter has been left by the wayside.

I love a written letter.  A handwritten letter holds so much more than the words, and when you receive a handwritten letter it means so much more than an email would have.

So, send out some “thank you” letters for the great Christmas you had, and reach out to an old friend or extended family member that you don’t see often.

Universal Letter-Writing Week 0

Today begins Universal Letter-Writing Week.  People aren’t writing letters as much as they used to (except it seems cover letters, reference letters, and credit dispute letters).  It is a real shame.  The letters of the past tell great stories and mark them in time for future generations to stumble upon.  Emails just won’t do that.

So take time this week and write a letter or two.  Write to an old friend, distant family, or just to someone you think might need one.
