Today is World Population Day. Today we need to think for a bit on how the rise in population is effecting the earth and how we plan to provide for the masses. We need to consider what changes we need to make now, so that we don’t overpopulate it.

February 21, 2010 is International Mother Language Day celebrating linguistic and cultural diversity and multilingualism. It is an annual day that was proclaimed by the UN in 1999, because “languages are the most powerful instruments of preserving and developing our tangible and intangible heritage”.

After Last night, Vancouver kicked off the 2010 Winter Olympics with the opening ceremonies. Today is the first day of events.
I always love watching the Olympics. I very rarely watch sports at any other time. There is just something about the Olympics that brings out my sense of national pride, and gives the me completely unfounded belief that I have the credentials to judge figure skating.
